Have you ever tried turmeric? I used to make this drink quite a bit when I had a lot of pain and inflammation. I would take a teaspoon of turmeric and mix it with 1/2 a cup of coconut milk. If you use young Thai coconuts to make the milk you won't even need a sweetener. If you use dehydrated coconuts or frozen coconut you might want to add a little honey or unprocessed stevia to sweeten it. Turmeric is anticancer, antiviral, and antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory and it can even help with helping to decrease a fever.
